VENUE CHANGE: This program will be live-streamed only (not in-person at the library), recording will be available.
It wasn’t all that long ago that astronomers were unsure just exactly what the Milky Way was, or if there was anything beyond it. Today we know that the Milky Way is just one of as many as two trillion galaxies in the observable universe, all with different structures, compositions and behavior. Join Standley Lake Stargazing for a closer look at these incredibly massive and important structures, how astronomers study them and what we can learn about our home galaxy, the Milky Way!
Reminder: Our Thursday evening programs continue virtually until January 2024 when we’ll resume in-person programs at the Standley Lake Library! Send an email to contact@standleylakestargazing.com if you’d like to join the mailing list and receive notifications about our weekly programs.
