Aquila, The Eagle

Aquila, The Eagle is another summer icon, lying along the rich Milky Way. Aquila, the Eagle, lies south of Cygnus along the Milky Way. In Greek myth, Zeus disguised himself as an Eagle to kidnap Ganymede. Aquila’s brightest star, Altair, forms the head of the eagle.

Along with Lyra and Cygnus, Aquila is visible after 9 PM on summer evenings.
