Orion, The Hunter

Orion, The Hunter, is one of the most recognizable constellations in the entire sky. It’s also home to a plethora of deep-sky gems that can be appreciated with anything from the naked eye to an advanced telescope!

Orion rises in the east around 10 PM, with its distinctive three star “belt” pattern just above the famous Orion Nebula. Betelgeuse, the “shoulder” star dipped in brightness unexpectedly last year and was visibly fainter to the naked eye.

The winter Milky Way runs through Orion and offers vast rich star fields that are wonderful to take in through a pair of handy binoculars.
