The Perseids are Coming!

Be sure to join us next Wednesday 8/12 at 6:00 PM for our virtual program discussing the Perseid meteor shower, you can email Lexie Martinez at LBmartin@cityofwestminster.us to register.

This week we’re treated to one of the year’s best meteor displays, the Perseids. With the Moon rising in the early morning, your chances of catching some meteors in the evening and after midnight are fairly high. The meteor shower peaks in the coming days, but you can catch the meteor shower tonight as it continues to ramp up to the peak Wednesday!

The Perseid meteor shower is like no other. Every August it delivers up to 100 meteors an hour in pleasant weather conducive to getting outside and staying up late. What's more, most kids still aren't in school, making it possible for the entire family to enjoy the event.
