Delta Aquariid Meteor Shower Tonight

Tonight is the peak of the Delta Aquariid meteor shower!

[Note: You can still join us for our program Humans in Space this Wednesday 7/28 @ 6 PM, email Register@StandleyLakeStargazing.com]

While not as active as the Perseids in a few weeks, the Delta Aquariids provide a steady display of meteors over the last week of July, even at a nominal rate. The best way to appreciate this meteor shower is to head outside later in the evening and just scan as much of the sky as possible, you can expect a few bright meteors per hour for the rest of the week!

Image at top: Kelly Dreller in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, caught this meteor in late July 2016. Every year, people look forward to August's Perseid meteor shower. And it's wonderful, with regular rates of about 60 meteors per hour at its peak.
